ABOUT
Everette Hampton is an art and design historian, writer, and curator from Philadelphia.
Her work centers on cultural convergences and dichotomies explored through material and visual culture, race, performance, and behavior relative to Black and Brown diasporas.
Everette intends to confront gaps in art and design history and theory to evolve ways of making, seeing, and connecting. As a result, she opens opportunities to realize paths towards sustainable, effective design systems and aesthetics. She illuminates marginalized art histories and undepublished topics in design.
Everette currently serves as a Researcher at Carol Bove Studio. She has held roles with Brooklyn Art Haus, R & Company, Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Project, focusing on curatorial administration, archival processing, acquisitions, and collections management. Her research and editorial experiences include contributions to The Guardian (2023) and Parsons School of Design’s Objective journal (2023).
Everette holds an MA in the History of Design and Curatorial Studies from Parsons School of Design in conjunction with Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum (2024), and a BBA in International Business from Howard University’s School of Business (2018).
Everette is based in New York.
